Diffuser vs humidifier

Humidifiers and diffusers can be similar in many ways. Both use water, which they vaporize and disperse in one way or another in the home environment. However, the areas of use differ markedly:
Humidifiers generally have a much larger tank (often several liters) and create more steam than a diffuser. The purpose of the humidifier is to increase the humidity inside, which can be useful if the air is very dry. There are humidifiers that create steam both by heating water, and via ultrasonic vibrations. Humidifiers are generally designed for use with water only, and are not designed to disperse fragrance using essential oils. In many cases, humidifier manufacturers strictly discourage the use of anything other than water, as added substances can clog filters, affect the plastic of the tank and shorten the life of the product.
A diffuser holds considerably less water, has a smaller format and is developed specifically to spread fragrance in the home. Another word for diffuser is "scent diffuser". Although the diffuser, like the humidifier, increases the humidity in the room through its steam production, the tank is so small that this is extremely marginal. If you are looking to increase the humidity, you should therefore buy a pure humidifier with a large tank - not a diffuser. Most diffusers on the market have a tank that only holds 100 ml.
To use a diffuser, you fill it with tap water, and then add a few drops of essential oil directly to the water in the tank. At the bottom of the diffuser is a small ceramic plate that creates cold water vapor with extremely fast vibrations, which then carries the scent of the added oil on its way out into the room. With a diffuser and essential oils, you get full control over which scent is used, how weak or strong the scent should be and how long it should be running. A perfect product for creating wonderfully scented homes!
Evoroma's diffuser has a 50% larger tank (150 ml) than most other models on the market, and can therefore combine both a slightly larger steam production with a longer operating time per tank. It also has three really smart features that simpler variants often lack:
  • Interval mode. You can choose whether the diffuser should produce steam constantly, or at regular intervals. With the interval mode, the diffuser runs for 30 seconds, pauses for 30 seconds, runs for 30 seconds, etc.
  • Timer, choose whether to run 1, 2 or 4 hours. Can also run until the tank runs out (over 6 hours running time in continuous mode. About 12 hours of running time in interval mode)
  • LED lamp with warm white light. Can be turned on and off. Very nice especially when it starts to get dark outside. A ring running along the ceramic shell of the diffuser is dimly lit. The steam is also illuminated, giving a glowing and very subtle shimmer where it leaves the diffuser and begins its journey to spread fragrance in your home.
Evoroma's diffuser is handmade and has an exclusive stoneware casing. An interior design product that with its quiet and flowing steam attracts attention as an interesting new element in the home environment.
